Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin has released a statement concerning the suspicious death the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, along with Ohio B.C.I., is currently investigating.

Sheriff Champlin states, “At this time, we can confirm by our investigation that the deceased has been identified as Charles A. Wolfe, age 71, of Gallipolis, Ohio.  Our office is continuing to investigate the cause of Mr. Wolfe’s death jointly with Ohio B.C.I. and further details will be released at the appropriate time.  If anyone believes that they may possess any information pertinent to this investigation, they are asked to contact our office at 740-446-1221.”

According to a statement released today by Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin, the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a suspicious death.

“In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 13, 2018, the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported deceased individual on George’s Creek Road in Addison Township,” said Sheriff Champlin. “When deputies arrived at the scene, it was not immediately apparent as to the cause of death. Based on this information, detectives, as well as investigators from BCI, were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.”

At this time, the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released as they become available.
