COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Wildlife Council has announced updates to upcoming meeting dates, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The council first heard proposals for the 2018-2019 hunting season at their January and February meetings.
The Statewide Fish and Game Hearing on Ohio’s 2018-2019 hunting season proposals has been moved from Thursday, March 15, to Thursday, April 12. The hearing will be held at the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s District One office and will begin at 9 a.m. The office is located at 1500 Dublin Road, Columbus 43215.
The council will vote on all of the proposed rules and season dates during its meeting onWednesday, May 2, after considering public input. The Ohio Wildlife Council is an eight-member board that approves all ODNR Division of Wildlife proposed rules and regulations.
Because of the date changes, the period for Ohioans to submit their comments about the proposed rule changes online has been extended through Saturday, March 31. A complete list of proposed rules changes can be found at wildohio.gov.
Council meetings are open to the public. Individuals who want to provide comments on a topic that is currently being considered by council are asked to preregister at least two days prior to the meeting by calling 614-265-6304. All comments are required to be three minutes or less.
