The first Prom Fashion Show and Giveaway hosted by God’s Hands and Work and Pure International Pageants on Sunday was a success. Thanks to donations from the community and businesses, the 47 young women in attendance were given the opportunity to choose from 548 prom gowns and homecoming dresses, as well as 200 pairs of shoes, accessories, and flowers. Prior to the giveaway, those in attendance were treated to a fashion show.

“We’d like to thank Pure International Pageants for putting on an amazing fashion show to model some of our dresses for the girls before they chose which one they wanted to take home. The Pure queens were also joined by local festival queens from Gallia and Jackson counties, such as Miss Gallia County, Miss Gallipolis in Lights, and the River Recreation Festival Queen. There were 15 queens in all who modeled dresses,” said GHAW Executive Director Lisa Carroll. “Thank you to everyone who donated to make this possible. The girls were so appreciative. We saw lots of smiles and even a few tears of joy, accompanied by many hugs. What an amazing opportunity we were given to share God’s love with these girls!”

See below for a video produced by Solid Rock Studios for the event, as well as a thank you from Pure International Pageants Executive Director Pat Miller.

If you are in need of a dress and missed the event, there are two more giveaway dates scheduled for Saturday, March 17 and Saturday, April 7 from noon to 4 p.m. both days. Reservations are not required for the next two events. The giveaways will be held at the GHAW Service Center located at 68 Keystone Rd. in Vinton.
