To kick off its “Thanking Those Who Serve” campaign, the Carmichael Agency, a Farmers Insurance agency in Gallia County, recognized Detective Brady Curry today as its first recipient. The campaign was launched by the agency to show their appreciation for those in the community who go “above and beyond” on a daily basis.

Curry was nominated for the recognition by Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin, after he was contacted by the Carmichael Agency about the program and asked to select someone to be recognized from the department. Curry was named Deputy of the Year in 2017 by his peers.

“Detective Curry had an excellent year last year. He went above and beyond to serve the citizens of Gallia County, worked many, many cases tirelessly last year, sacrificed his own well-being by way of sleep and time to conclude a bunch of major investigations for us last year, which ultimately provided justice for the citizens of Gallia County,” said Champlin.

Curry has been a deputy with the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office for a little over four years and a detective for a year and half.

“It’s always something that I’ve wanted to do,” said Curry about the investigative side of the job, which gives him the opportunity to help victims of crime.

The agency plans to continue the program and will begin accepting nominations soon to recognize both individuals and organizations who regularly serve the community.
