Sheriff Matt Champlin and Superintendent Jude Meyers of the Gallia County Local School District have released a joint statement in regards to social media posts referencing a threat being directed toward River Valley High School.
“My staff has thoroughly investigated this situation and we have determined that there was no credibility to a threat being made against any students or staff members at River Valley High School,” stated Sheriff Champlin.
“Administrative Staff from the County Schools have been actively involved in the investigative process and we appreciate all of the assistance they have provided. We have determined that what is being circulated on social media is not factual to the events that took place,” commented Champlin.
“The safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority and I can assure you that we are taking the appropriate steps to hold the person or persons accountable,” stated Superintendent Meyers.
