Gallipolis City crews fixed a water leak at Spruce Street extension on Saturday, after receiving a report that the reservoir was losing water.

According to an employee with the City of Gallipolis, they received word around noon of a possible water leak somewhere on the system. The loss was occurring at approximately 170 gallons per minute. They located the leak at approximately 1:30 p.m. about 150 feet from Chickamauga Creek and were able to turn off the valve at Spruce Street Extension. The leak was repaired and a precautionary boil advisory was issued for Spruce Street Extension customers until approximately 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

No other customers were reported to be affected.
