Recent felony arraignments in the Gallia County Court of Common Pleas include charges of rape, sexual battery, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, breaking and entering, theft and drug charges.

Recently arraigned were:

Bryan D. McQuaid, 37, Gallipolis

Bryan McQuaid

Charged with rape, a felony of the 1st degree.

McQuaid was arrested by officers with the Gallipolis Police Department on January 23, after they were contacted by an adult female who stated she had been raped by an adult male family member. McQuaid was charged following an investigation into the report by detectives.

McQuaid pleaded not guilty to the charge and was placed on a $500,000, 10 percent bond.

 

Morgan D. Halley, 33, Gallipolis

Morgan Halley

Halley, who was a South Gallia High School teacher at the time of the alleged incidents, but who has since resigned, was charged with three counts of sexual battery for allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with a student on three separate dates and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 15-year-old minor, all felonies of the 3rd degree.

Halley pleaded not guilty to the charges and the bond of $15,000, 10 percent that was set by the Gallipolis Municipal Court was continued.

 

Michael A. Saunders, 31, Gallipolis

Michael Saunders

Saunders is charged with five counts of breaking and entering, theft, illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility and receiving stolen property.

According to court records, Saunders is charged with the alleged breaking and entering of and theft of $3,880 in property from a local business on December 18, 2017, as well as the breaking and entering of four different storage units on December 28, 2017, all felonies of the 5th degree.

In addition, Saunders is charged with the illegal conveyance of clear plastic bag allegedly containing morphine and Tramadol, a 3rd degree felony and receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

Saunders pleaded not guilty to the charges and was placed on a $50,000, 10 percent surety bond.

 

Nancy E. Saunders, 32, Gallipolis

Nancy Saunders

Charged with complicity to theft, for allegedly knowingly aiding and abetting Michael A. Saunders in the commission of a theft offense, a 5th degree felony, complicity to illegal conveyance, a 3rd degree felony and receiving stolen property, a 5th degree felony.

Saunders pleaded not guilty to the charges and was placed on a $25,000, 10 percent bond.

 

Dominque Peck, 25, Bidwell

Dominique Peck

Charged with one count each of the alleged possession and trafficking of 4.04 grams of heroin, both 4th degree felonies, one count each of the alleged aggravated possession and aggravated trafficking of a crystalline solid substance found to contain methamphetamine, a 5th degree felony and 4th degree felony, respectively.

Peck pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on his own recognizance.

 

 

 

Chasity E. Reed, 26, Vinton

Chasity Reed

Charged with the alleged possession of heroin, a 5th degree felony and the alleged aggravated possession of fentanyl, also a 5th degree felony.

Reed pleaded not guilty  to the charges and was released on her own recognizance.

 

Andrea M. Martin, 33, Gallipolis

Andrea Martin

Charged with two counts of complicity, felonies of the 5th degree.

Martin pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on her own recognizance.

 

Johnathan W. Rayburn, 32, Gallipolis

Johnathan Rayburn

Charged with two counts of identity fraud and one count of forgery, all felonies of the 5th degree.

Rayburn pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on his own recognizance.

 

Jamie E. Russell, 40, Point Pleasant, W.Va.

Jamie Russell

Charged with the alleged aggravated possession of .54 grams of methylphenidate, a 5th degree felony.

Russell pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on her own recognizance.

 

Jonathan R. Young, 33, New Haven, W.Va.

Charged with the alleged aggravated possession of 10 Dexmethylphenidate capsules, a 5th degree felony.

Young pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on an own recognizance bond.

 

Micha M. Large, 48, Gallipolis

Charged with the alleged possession of .10 grams of cocaine.

Large pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on an own recognizance bond.
