Host Gallipolis, after leading only 23 – 18 at halftime, exploded for 37 second half points to hand visiting Pedro Rock Hill a 60 – 35 loss in an Ohio Valley League basketball game in Centenary Gym Tuesday.

The visiting Redmen, after scoring 18 points in the first half, were limited to 17 markers in the final two periods and dropped to 0 – 12 on the year and 0 – 6 in OVL action.

Meanwhile, Gallipolis improved to 12 – 1 overall and 6 – 1 in league play.

Gallipolis continues second half league play at Ironton on Friday night. On Saturday, the Blue Devils will host Portsmouth in a makeup loop game.

Rock Hill will host Chesapeake in its next game Friday.

In Tuesday’s game in Centenary, GAHS never trailed although the Redmen tied it twice at 8 – 8 and 12 – 12.

Gallipolis led 11 – 4 after one period, 23 – 18 at halftime and 41 – 27 after three periods.

GAHS had three players score in double figures, led by Zach Loveday’s 17 points.

Cory Call added 14 and Justin McClelland 12 for the winners.

Three Redmen finished with eight points each – Kaden French, Logan Hankins and Bladen Stamper.

Gallipolis was 8 of 17 at the foul line. Rock Hill was 1 of 10 at the line.

Gallipolis had 20 two pointers and four three-point goals. Rock Hill had 14 twos and 2 threes.

In the JV game, Gallipolis defeated the Little Redmen 46 – 22 for their 11th win against two losses. The Blue Imps are 6 – 1 in OVL play. Rock Hill dropped its 6th straight league game against no wins.

High for the Blue Imps was Brenden Carter. High man for Rock Hill was Caleb Dillon with eight points.

Gallipolis led 6 – 4, 23 – 6, and 30 – 12 at quartermarks.
