Sheriff Matt Champlin announced the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 14101 State Route 554 near the intersection of State Route 160 in Gallia County, Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2017.

The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office working in conjunction with the Gallia-Meigs Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at approximately 3:45 p.m. on November 15, 2017. As a result of this investigation a large quantity of crack cocaine and prescription narcotics were seized from the residence along with approximately $12,000 in cash and a loaded firearms.

Taken into custody during this investigation were Alfred Cordell III, age 28, and Jacqueline Wamsley, age 29, both of Bidwell, Ohio.  Mr. Cordell is being charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs, having weapons while under disability as well as facing underlying charges for which he had warrants for.  Ms. Wamsley is being charged with possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs.

“Our law enforcement community is continuing our aggressive pursuit of these predator drug dealers and we will continue this pursuit as they are failing to heed our warnings about bringing their poison into our communities.  I applaud the work of these brave officers who have been diligent in putting together these types of investigations which are getting results” commented Champlin. “This investigation is still ongoing and is being led by The Gallia-Meigs Major Crimes Task Force in consultation with Gallia County Prosecuting Attorney Jason Holdren’s office. The Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs is a state task force under the jurisdiction the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission which is part of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the task force was formed in September 2013 and consists of the Gallia and Meigs County Sheriff’s Offices, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Gallipolis City Police Department, the Middleport Police Department and both the Gallia and Meigs County Prosecutor’s Offices.”
