The Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau presents the 2018 Passport Challenges! Beginning May 4th, Gallia County residents and visitors will have the opportunity to explore Gallia in a whole new way! This program is free and open to everyone. In each challenge participants visit 10 locations where they must either take a selfie as proof or the location will stamp their special passport.

The Challenges offered this year are the City Passport Challenge and the County Passport Challenge. In the City Passport Challenge, all locations will be in downtown Gallipolis, whereas the County Passport Challenge has locations throughout Gallia County. Locations are comprised of historical attractions, local businesses and museums.

According to Assistant Director Kaitlynn Halley, “This is our third year doing the Passport Challenge and I am so thrilled by the support from the community. Our goal as an organization is to educate residents and visitors of our history and infrastructure and the Passport Challenges allow us meet that goal in a fun way.”

Like previous years anyone who completes a challenge will receive a drawstring bag and this year, thanks to Holzer Health System, a water bottle. Participants who complete the challenge will be entered into our monthly drawings to win a camping chair and other travel related items. One big change is an addition of a grand prize which includes an American Tourister 4-piece luggage set and a Fuji Film Instax Mini Camera. To be entered to win the grand prize participants must complete both the City Challenge and the County Challenge, the drawing will be August 1st.

In 2017 the Passport Challenges were completed by more than 250 participants. This year the GCCVB will be kicking off the season on May 4th during First Friday from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. They will have printed passports available and plenty of information for Gallia’s attractions and summer events.

The 2018 Passport Challenges will be open from May 4th to August 1st. The Challenge Passports will be available at or picked up at the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau, 441 Second Avenue, Gallipolis. For questions, you can contact the GCCVB at 1-800-765-6482 or
