A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Gallia County and the surrounding region. The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

Advisory Details

* WHAT…Freezing rain is expected with a transition to mixtures of sleet, snow, and rain. The ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. Snow and sleet amounts of a trace to 2 inches are possible, but could be subject to melting from temperatures above freezing and rain.

* WHERE…Portions of southeast Ohio and northeast Kentucky.

* WHEN…From 2 AM to 2 PM EST Monday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The wintry precipitation may begin as freezing sprinkles across the region, falling into trapped Arctic air pockets lingering in valleys and hollows tonight.


A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
