RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The award-winning Buckeye Hills Career Center will, once again, host an expo on April 22, 2017, and April 23, 2017, from noon to 5 p.m.

The Career Center, located at 351 Buckeye Hills Rd. in Rio Grande, offers many different career technical programs for high school students as well as adults. Staff members from the career center will be on hand to provide demonstrations and displays for the different programs offered.

There are many activities planned for this event, including but not limited to; a corn toss tournament and motorcycle show, both happening Saturday afternoon, a classic car show on Sunday, antique tractor show, craft show, ham radio checks, health care checks, adult education displays, new car display, fingerprinting of children and much more.
There will also be live entertainment offered both days from local musicians. On Saturday, Corey Hager; a Contemporary Country singer from Ripley, WV, will be performing at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Red Brush Band, who play a variety of music, at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Gospel Strings, who play a combination of Southern, Bluegrass and Contemporary gospel will take the stage at 12:30 p.m. Jenny Henchey, who has worked with many popular Country artists of today, will perform at 2:30 p.m.
Many door prizes will be given away, and you can register to win many other prizes as well. There will be a grand prize drawing of a $100 gift certificate to Piggly Wiggly, WesBanco will be having a $50 drawing, and Ohio Valley Bank will be giving $20 cash away every hour.
This event is free to the public, however, there will be food available for purchase. On Saturday, they will have baked steak dinners, and on Sunday there will be chicken dinners. Also, their concession stand will be open both days.
Director of the career center; Don Armstrong is very excited about the event and stated “We believe in what we do. Creating successful lives is our mission.” He also stated that this expo will really give people a chance to walk through the different demonstrations to get a feel for what goes on at the career center.
